Was it necessary to treat Sam Wilson's character so poorly in Marvel's mini ANAD campaign?

Sorry, don’t know what you’re referring to. How did we treat Sam badly?

‘Poorly’ as in these comic events (Secret Wars aside), putting a hindrance on his character. Which would be promotional and development wise.

I can appreciate writers like Ewing and Spencer doing focused arcs because it makes things relatable. But the push by the company to give Sam a mantle title (which he had for a mere six months) instead of presenting him as long standing title, Falcon, put a lot of negativity on him.  And having him start off in the AXIS event certainly didn’t help.
